Today, we will talk about the mass uprisings that took place in the city in the spring of 1992. These events led to the death of 55 people. Police officers beat up a black man<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The date of April 29, 1992, entered the history of Los Angeles. But unfortunately, this is not a happy page of the past. On this day, riots swept over the megapoils, resulting in human casualties. It all started because a jury acquitted white police officers who beat African American Rodney King. The man was stopped by law enforcement for speeding. The black man was battered for resisting during the detention. The police officers beat the young man for a minute and a half and hit him 56 times with batons. Rodney King was hospitalized. He had a broken leg, a fractured facial bone, hematomas and lacerated wounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the verdict, thousands of African Americans took to the streets of Los Angeles. They held demonstrations that turned into chaos, pogroms and criminal actions. Criminal actors took part in these riots and committed crimes on racial grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
